Pepper
COURTESY POST for a fellow rescue/shelter: Pepper is a sweet 4 year old heeler/husky mix. He's about 40lbs, UTD on shots, and neutered. Pepper is super friendly and playful with all dogs he meets and seems to like cats as well. Pepper is housebroken and uses a dog door, and is crate trained. He's great on leash, treat motivated and eager to run, play, or cuddle. He's been in Foster for 3 months and has been around lots of dogs of all sizes and really just wants to play. This sweet boy has been in the shelter and foster care for almost a year - time to help him find the perfect home! If you'd like to meet Pepper, please reach out to PAWS in Pendleton!

Oona
Foster needed for Oona! Oona is a red heeler mix, age 1 yr 4 months. She weighs about 43lbs. Oona is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. She shows no aggression toward other dogs. She was curious about cats but not aggressive. She has a lot of energy and will jump up with excitement so a home without small children is recommended. Oona has no exposure to livestock or chickens. She is crate trained and house trained. Oona is being rehomed due to her elderly owner's inability to provide her with the daily enrichment and exercise she desperately needs. She is a very sweet, smart girl. She loves to give cuddles and kisses. She loves to run and jump, will chase birds and squirrels. She loves to chase a ball or toy. She pulls on a leash and needs help with leash training and recall. If she doesn't know someone she will bark. She loves to chew on sticks and bones. She is great in the car. She does well with other dogs and has spent a day at doggy day care (Cascade Pet Camp) with no problems. Oona is located in The Dalles, Oregon. Huey
COURTESY POST Meet HUEY, a 4-Year-Old Border Collie / Golden Retriever Mix). Huey is a sweet, fun-loving 4-year-old Border Collie / Golden Retriever mix looking for an active, loving home. He’s bursting with energy and affection, ready to bring joy to the right family! If you're looking for a loyal companion with a big personality, Huey is your guy! Huey is an incredible companion but would do best in a home with no other pets or with humans who have experience managing resource guarding behaviors. His love for attention and occasional resource guarding issues with food or attention from other animals means he’s happiest as the only pet. With the right owner, Huey will be a loyal and affectionate family member!

Ochkijn
Foster needed for Ochkijn. This gentle boy has had a less-than-ideal life up until now, but with Hunah’s help we can get him on the path to finding a loving home. Ochkijn is a 7-yr-old Border Collie mix; his original owners left him behind when they moved. A caring family took him to help find him a new home. Ochkijn is about 60lbs. He was vaccinated in March but will need to be neutered. He shows no aggression toward other dogs and is currently residing with two dogs without issues. There are other dogs that come for visits and Ochkijn has had no problem with any of them. His experience with cats or other livestock is unknown but he goes after rats! He has been good with children, from newborn to age 18 and every age in between, very gentle. His original owners kept him outside 100% of his life but he’s enjoying being inside now. He uses his caretaker’s doggy door to go outside to potty or will wait for us if we have our doggy door closed. When left in the house, he’s been uncrated and done fine. He has tried to escape the yard a few times which could be due to him being new to the home and unneutered. Ochkijn is located in Gresham, Oregon. If you are interested in fostering Ochkijn, please contact FLORA at flora.hunah@gmail.com If you are not already an approved foster or adopter, find an application here http://herduneededahome.com/adoption-application/

Sartre
Foster needed for Sartre. Sartre is an adorable and extremely easy-going dog. He leaves a good impression on every person he meets. He is just under 7 years old, having been born in France. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. He is a smaller dog, weighing in at 25lbs. Sartre is house trained and never had an accident in the house. The only thing that scares him is when people display negative emotions around him, he's sensitive to that. Loud noises don't scare him, vacuums, fireworks, or anything of the sort. While indoors it's easy to forget he's around. The only time he barks is if somebody is at the door, but it's not obnoxious. He will go out in any weather and has a lot of endurance. He's a fast runner and doesn't tire easily. An active home with avid runners, mountain bikers or hikers would be a great fit. Sartre doesn't particularly care about treats or food, the best reward for him is play. The sight of a ball will spring him to life. He's more interested in people than other animals. He has a prey drive and will chase cats and squirrels. He has not been exposed to other livestock so a home without cats or other animals is indicated.
Sartre is possessive over toys and can be protective of his owner if other dogs approach. His owner states he has gotten very grey around the face in the last 4-6 months. Sartre is currently in Bend, Oregon. If you are interested in fostering or foster to adopt Sartre, please contact FLORA at flora.hunah@gmail.com

Penelope
Foster needed for Penelope. Penelope is a 3-year-old Kelpie who is loving and energetic. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Penelope is house trained but has not been crate trained. She weighs appr 45lbs. Penelope will need help building her confidence and with leash training. She does well with other dogs and cats unless the cats aren’t used to dogs. She is not aggressive but can be protective of her property and owners. She doesn’t do well on car rides; she barks at vehicles and dogs she sees for the first 30 min. She barks at strangers at first but when they approach her, she is sweet and loves getting attention. Penelope is hoping for a home with a yard; a dog buddy to play with would be ideal. A home with older children or no children would be best. She has limited experience with chickens, and did try to chase them so a chicken free home is recommended. She is currently living in Tigard, Oregon. If you are interested in fostering or foster to adopt Penelope, please contact FLORA at flora.hunah@gmail.com

Pepper

Pepper is house trained, and crate trained. She is described as very sweet, beautiful and smart with no behavioral issues. ** Pepper is semi interested in play... she will chase a ball but wants you to chase her to get it back or will sometimes bring it back for a treat 🙂 She appears to be more interested in playing with other dogs!
