PLEASE help Vader! His owner is being deployed January 20th!

Foster needed for Vader. Vader is a handsome 3-year-old Heeler / Border Collie with some possible Husky mixed in. He is very loved, but in need of a home because, sadly, his owner is being deployed overseas and doesn’t feel Vader would cope well in 100 + degree weather. Vader is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is house trained and crate trained although he dislikes the crate. Vader goes for jogs with his owner every morning and walks in the evening after work. He knows sit, down, up, speak, and fetch.

Vader has reactivity towards male dogs and smaller dogs. His ideal home will be as an only dog or with a female companion. He is friendly toward strangers and with children. He has been known to chase cars of unsupervised. Vader has no experience with livestock or farm animals but will chase cats, so a cat-free home is needed.

Foster Alert!   Foster needed for Oreo. Oreo is a beautiful 2-year-old Blue Heeler who is full of love and energy. She thrives with plenty of exercise and attention, making her perfect for an active household. Oreo is great with kids; she is selective with dogs and cats. She’s crate and house trained and rides wonderfully in the car.

Oreo knows several commands including sit, stay, lay down, crate and bed. While she is generally good with other dogs, she has become protective of her own home when other dogs are around. However, she gets along with other dogs away from home.

She has decided the cat she lives with is only tolerable outside. Oreo is sweet and loves everybody she meets and does well indoors. She is spayed, vaccinated and currently in the Hermiston Oregon area.

Foster needed for Suzy who is running out of time for a home. Suzy's current situation is not working for her, and with minimal exercise and guidance, she is becoming too much to manage for her owner.  Suzy is 6 years old and has lived with the same family since she was a puppy.  She is a mixed breed including Lab, Great Dane and Pyrenees. Suzy is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, house trained, and crate trained. She weighs 71 lbs.

Suzy is looking for an experienced home with someone who can train or retrain her on the basics and beyond. Retraining for habits that include excessive barking, digging, protective of house/family, jumping up, fear of loud noises (storms, guns, fireworks). She needs calming medication for a vet exam or nail clipping.   She is described as sweet dog to her people and would be awesome for someone that is home a lot during the day but will need training, which is a wonderful way to bond with a new dog.  Suzy has not shown any reaction to horses or livestock but chases cats, so a cat free home is required. She has grown up with children but is overly protective of them so a home without children is recommended. Her owner reports she's always been great at dog parks, will run with the pack but no interest in fetch.

Foster needed for SKOOT!!  Skoot is a Border Collie mix, 1 1/2 years old, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Skoot weighs about 50lbs.  He has shown no aggression towards dogs, cats or children.  He hasn't been exposed to farm animals.  Skoot is house trained and crate trained. He will dig in the yard if bored. He will jump up for the ball and tends to jump when greeting - his owner has been working on this. He is a very enthusiastic boy. Skoot will hunt for things to chew on in the house if bored.  His owner gives him Himalayan Yak Cheese, Coffee Wood, Bully sticks, tough toys for chewing. Foster needed for Clementine. Clementine is a Red heeler/ border collie mix, an absolute love bug. She is approximately 2 years old, spayed and microchipped. Her vaccinations will be up to date Fri, January 2nd. She is about 32lbs. She was found as a stray in winter in Pilot Rock, Oregon very skinny, scared and pregnant. She had an emergency C-section and spay for a single HUGE puppy that she could not deliver and who did not live. After her procedure, I brought her home (Nov 2024) so she could heal and be warm and fed. She has adapted to living outdoors but would thrive in an active outdoor household with a family who loves her and has plenty of time to teach her how to follow her natural herding instincts.

She loves all people, especially children, other dogs and cats and kittens. She is very eager to please and learns quickly. She is anxious at first but when comfortable at home she does well. She has had some training, and we are correcting jumping up. She has some inappropriate elimination behaviors when she is anxious and doesn’t like the weather outside. She goes long periods of time with no mistakes at all (weeks to months) and then will have a bout when anxious or her routine is off.

She needs room to roam and a job perhaps on a farm or ranch. Her owner works long days away from home and employs a dog walker to walk her during the day, but Clementine gets very lonely and destructive when left alone. She is a high energy loving dog who would thrive in a family and not with a single professional woman who works too much.
