About Fostering

HUNAH is a foster-based rescue, which means the number of dogs we can help is limited by the number of foster homes we have available. Currently, we have a network of around 30 foster homes throughout Oregon and the northwest where dogs are placed temporarily until we find a new permanent home for them.

We rely on our foster homes to help us place as many dogs as possible each year. Because we have no shelter, our foster program is key to our organization’s success. Becoming a foster home is a rewarding and fun way to volunteer.

If you are interested in helping to save a life, HUNAH will make sure you have all the tools you need to successfully foster one of our dogs in need. All of our foster homes are pre-screened to ensure we find a good fit for you and our dogs. It is very important that each dog be matched with the right home, so we need to know some background information about you and your living situation in order to make the best fit!

Be sure to contact all of your references and let them know that we will be calling and asking questions about your ability to care for the dog in question. To speed up the process please ensure that they are expecting our call and that their phone number is correct.
